  Pros: Wood-burning fire pits get extra hot when you need it – you control the temp. The ambiance is somehow better with all the snap-crackle-pop and hot-dogs & marshmallows love the flames too!  Cons: Wood fires contribute to air pollution. Sparks flying out of the pit can hurt – a protective screen can help minimize this risk. Wood storage is necessary and a bit of manual labor is involved stoking the fire. But man up, it’s a breeze! Actually, many love to be the fire-masters.

Not all fire pits are created equal. Yes, lighting up a fire pit is a natural way to create a focal point in your landscape, however,  shapes, styles and materials are up to you.  You can be classically cool or unabashedly, genuinely different.

A fire pit may help you sell your home. According to a recent Houzz survey, fire pits are among the three most popular backyard additions by renovating homeowners. In other words, fire pits are hot. Having an attractive and well-maintained fire pit in your yard could give your home an edge if you decide to sell.
