About Brook

Growing up in the Pacific Northwest it was easy for Brooke to develop a deep connection and appreciation for nature. She spent summers climbing her parent’s fruit trees, exploring the coast, hiking through Hoyt Arboretum in the fall, and observing every scent, texture, and color along her path. A true plant lover at a young age.

Today Brooke approaches landscape design as though it’s a journey in itself. She believes not only can joy be found in the result but what you discover along the way.

Before working for Paradise Restored, Brooke earned a bachelor’s degree in communications at Oregon State University and spent 17 years in the broadcast media industry. Much of her time was spent traveling, interviewing people from all backgrounds and experiences, and finding creative ways to tell their story. She believes design is similar and that the story that is told with a homeowner’s landscape is a direct reflection of who they are, how they live, and what they value. She listens to homeowner’s desires and finds great satisfaction in learning what draws them outside.

Brooke earned her associate’s degree in landscape design from Portland Community College and has completed courses that focus on horticulture, soil, drainage, landscape construction, and the environment. While at PCC she won best design in her class for her creative and functional use of space.

Brooke believes the outdoors is a place to find rest for our senses and our soul. The selection of a plant can be more than just for aesthetic reasons but for what moves you. She is passionate about creating outdoor spaces that not only bring people together but make a difference in how we live.
