About Kendra

As an artist studying at the Pacific Northwest College of Art, Kendra was always drawn back to the idea of home – how it is perceived, remembered and communicated through space, object, color, image or feeling. As a landscape designer, she hopes to create spaces that become an extension of the home; places that encourage you to gather, play and reflect. She has several years of design experience that not only includes landscape design, but also container gardens and interior plant and terrarium design.

“I’ve always felt a kinship with the Pacific Nor’Wester. Growing up in the Mojave Desert, my identity was connected to the landscape around me and I think that in the Pacific Northwest, the heart of the people is similarly impacted by this place. It’s very inspiring to me as a designer, and craftsperson. I view my work as a collaboration between the environment and the homeowner – I’m simply the mediator.”

Born to a mountaineer, Kendra grew up with the natural world as her playground and continues to find ways to get excited about being outdoors in every season whether it be hiking, camping, foraging, catching frogs or making a trip to the coast just to watch the sunset. She’s become passionate about landscapes that invite you to be a part of them, and by utilizing permaculture and xeriscaping principles, leave you more time to enjoy it, and less time maintaining it.
