About Phoebe
It only takes a few short minutes to ‘fall in like’ with this Oregon grown ‘art and design’ talent. Like the vegetables in her organic garden, Phoebe Loconsolo has established her roots in landscape design.
“Recently, my interest in art and design has led me to landscape design, with the desire to create spaces that are not only visually appealing and inviting, but useful and beneficial as well. Having studied landscape design at PCC here in Portland, I am well versed with all the latest aspects of sustainability in the landscape, a necessity in this day and age. One of my greatest influences was living in Rome for several years in my twenties. Italians have a reputation for enjoying life as much as they can and you can see this in their gardens and landscapes. Spaces to enjoy views, enjoy socializing, taking in the sun, relaxing in the shade, to grow and eat good food are all important. This is a philosophy I bring to all the spaces I design – how I can make it as enjoyable as possible.”
Born and raised in Eugene, Oregon, Phoebe’s artistic passion comes naturally with both parents’ artisans (her father made a living as a potter and her mother was a weaver and opened Eugene’s first weaving supply store) and a grandfather who engineered the Bonneville Dam construction. Growing up camping, hiking and skiing she continues to enjoy living close to nature by growing organic produce, making jams, bee keeping and harvesting honey.
Phoebe’s focus is on large scale, complex projects with unique and customized outdoor living. As a member of the Hardy Plant Society, she often participates with group members in garden tours for inspiration. The last one was to New England where they went to several private and public gardens daily. Phoebe also visit gardens when traveling abroad, as seen in some shots of me in gardens of Italy (Villa d’Este and La Mortella specifically).
Paradise Restored is thrilled to have Phoebe’s design philosophy and instinctive aptitude, part of our expert design staff.
